Not surprisingly, MGs ruled, mostly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGBsWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MGBs - all in a row\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">MGBs<\/a>, in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGBGTCrWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Chrome bumper MGB GT\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">chrome<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGBGTRuWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Rubber bumper MGB GT\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">rubber<\/a> trim. A good range of MGs attended, however, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGTCWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MG TC\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TC<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGTDWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MG TD\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TD<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGTFWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MG TF\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TF<\/a>, and MGAs in both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGAWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MGA roadster\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">roadster<\/a> form and the svelte little <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGACpe2Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"MGA fixed head coupe\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">fixed head coupe<\/a>. There were modern Midgets, again in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGMidgeCrWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Chrome bumper MG Midget\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">chrome<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGMidgeRuWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Rubber bumper MG Midget\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">rubber<\/a>, and several of the rare <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGCEngineWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MGC engine\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">six-cylinder<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGCGTWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MGC GT\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">MGCs<\/a>. Also represented were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MagnetteLRWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MG Magnette saloon - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">MG saloons<\/a>, by the attractive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MagnetteWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MG Magnette - front\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">ZA Magnette<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Star of the show was a barn-fresh <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_A30LRWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Austin A30 - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Austin A30<\/a>, the drive train of which gave rise to Donald Healey&#8217;s brilliant little <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_FrogeyesWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Frogeye Sprites in a row\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Austin-Healey Sprite<\/a>. There were &#8220;big Healeys&#8221; on hand, too, both the original <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_HealeyHundredsWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Austin Healey Hundreds\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Healey Hundred<\/a> and the later <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_Healey3000Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Austin-Healey 3000\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">3000<\/a> models.<\/p>\n<p>It was an all-British show, so the MG Club welcomed the competition: Triumphs, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR3Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Trkiumph TR3\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TR3<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR4Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph TR4\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TR4<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR6Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph TR6\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TR6<\/a> (no TR250s), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR7EngineWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"TR7  engine\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">four-cylinder<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR7Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph TR7 convertible\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TR7<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR8EngineWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"TR8 Rover engine\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Rover-engined<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR8NoseWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph TR8 emblem\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">TR8<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR8Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph TR8 coupe\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">coupe<\/a>. As the A30 was to the Sprite, so was Triumph&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TRSportWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph Herald Sport convertible\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Herald<\/a> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_SpitfireWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph Spitfire\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Spitfire<\/a>, which in turn had a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_GT6EngineWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph GT6 engine\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">six-cylinder<\/a> derivative in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_GT6LRWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph GT6 - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">GT6<\/a>. A single Triumph saloon car attended, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TR2000TCWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph 2000TC saloon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">2000TC<\/a>. For good measure there was a class for British bikes, whose sole occupant was a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_TRBikeWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Triumph Trident motorcycle\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Triumph Trident<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There were Mini Coopers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MiniCooperWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Classic Mini Cooper\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">old<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_NewMinisWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"New Mini Coopers\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">new<\/a>, and Loti from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_Lotus7Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Lotus Seven\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Seven<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_LotusExigeWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Lotus Exige copue\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Exige<\/a>. A solitary <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_JHealeyWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Jensen-Healey\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Jensen-Healey<\/a> showed up, as well as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MetropoWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Metropolitan convertible\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Nash Metropolitan<\/a>, another manifestation of the A30 drive train.<\/p>\n<p>Early Jags were limited to an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_XK120Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Jaguar XK120\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">XK120<\/a>, while several E-Types were seen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_ETypeJagsWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"E-Type Jags kiss the sod\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">kissing the sod<\/a>. Saloon Jags ranged from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_XJ6Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Series 3 Jaguar XJ-6\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">XJ6<\/a> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_STypeWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Jaguar St-Type saloon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">current S-Type<\/a>. The only Morgan left by the time we arrived was a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_Morgan4-4Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Morgan 4\/4 4-seater\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">4\/4 4-seater<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rovers made a good showing, with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_RoverP4Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Rover P4 saloon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">P4<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_RoverP5Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Rover P5 saloon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">P5<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_Rover2000TCWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Rover 2000TC saloon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">P6<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_Rover3500SWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Rover 3500S saloon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">P6B<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_RoverSD1Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Rover SD1 saloon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">SD1<\/a> saloons, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_LandRoversWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Classic Land Rovers\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Land Rovers<\/a> galore, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_LandRoverMilWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Military Land Rover with trailer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">military versions<\/a> and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_LandRover101Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Land Rover 101\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">101 model<\/a> all set for safari. Modern Landies were not forgotten, with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_Range&#038;DiscoveryWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Range Rover and Land Rover Discovery\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Discovery and a Range Rover<\/a> holding court near the entrance.<\/p>\n<p>The ambitious could buy an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_MGProjWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"MG project car\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">MG project<\/a>, or a full race <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_RaceFiestaWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Ford Fiesta \" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Ford Fiesta<\/a>. I was pleased to see my friend <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_CarterInvalidRFWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Hansen on Carter invalid carriage\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Karl Hansen<\/a> showing off his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_CarterInvalidLRWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Carter invalid car - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Carter invalid car<\/a>, and to meet <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_Steve&#038;AndreWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Andre Shay with Steve Manwell\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Andr&eacute; Shay<\/a>, who adopted some of my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-6-4_RoverLeavingWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Yellow Rover leaving\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Roveriana<\/a> some ten years ago. It was a grand day, even if there were no <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/2005\/05\/in-my-humber-opinion.html\">Humbers<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/2007\/05\/english-cousin.html\">Vauxhalls<\/a>.
