Happily it does, and has since 2002 when <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_SusanLaneWeb-Large.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Susan Lane\" _blank=\"\" class=\"imglink\">Susan<\/a> and Jeff Lane opened the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_LaneMotorMuseumWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Lane Motor Museum\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Lane Motor Museum<\/a>. Touting &#8220;Unique Cars from A to Z,&#8221; it has marques from the British <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_ABCWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1922 ABC\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">ABC<\/a> to German <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lanemotormuseum.org\/show_vehicle.php?veh=ZUNDAPPJANUSDOORSOPEN1956\">Zundapp<\/a> and misses only a few in between, though most of them are not exactly unique, as in one-off.<\/p>\n<p>Housed in a former Sunbeam bread bakery, their 40,000 square foot museum is big on eastern European marques, including some 13 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_Leighton&amp;TatrasWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Doug Leighton admiring Tatras\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Tatras<\/a>, made in the former Czechoslovakia. Other Czech makes include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_Skoda1101Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"1948 Skoda 1101\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Skoda<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_Aero10Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"1931 Aero 10\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Aero<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_JawaWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1939 Jawa 600\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Jawa<\/a>; Germans are represented by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_AutoUnionWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1960 Auto Union\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Auto Union<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_GoliathWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1954 Goliath\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Goliath<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_HanomagWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1926 Hanomag 2\/10 PS\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Hanomag<\/a>, as well as the renowned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_TrabbyWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1975 Trabant 601\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Trabant<\/a> from east of The Wall, while the ABC&#8217;s fellow countrymen include a pair of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_BSATrikesWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"BSA three-wheelerss\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">BSA three-wheelers<\/a> and the tiny <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_PeelP50Web-Large.jpg\" title=\"Peel P50\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Peel P50<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_TridentWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"19xx Peel Trident\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Trident<\/a>, both made on the Isle of Man.<\/p>\n<p>French dressing appears in the form of multitudinous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_CitroenCXWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Citroen CX Break\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Citro\u00ebns<\/a>, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_PanhardDynamicWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Panhard Dynamic\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Panhard Dynamic<\/a> with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_CenterDriveWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"center-drive steering on Panhard Dynamic\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">center-drive steering<\/a>, and a Renault <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_DauphineWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1962 Renault Dauphine\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Dauphine<\/a> and its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_HenneyKWWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Henney Kilowatt\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">electric clone<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_HenneyBadgeWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Henney Kilowatt badge\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Henney Kilowatt<\/a>. Kilowatts were converted in the US by the makers of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_HenneyKWRWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Henney kilowatt - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Eureka<\/a> vacuum cleaners. Another electric was the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_PeugeotElecWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1942 Peugeot VLV\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Peugeot VLV<\/a>, a World War II alternative-power vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a generous contingent of Nissan products, most on loan from Nissan USA, which is headquartered nearby. The retro-looking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_FigaroWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1991 Nissan Figaro\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Figaro<\/a> is actually from 1991 and sold only in Japan, though the model has since become trendy in Britain.<\/p>\n<p>From the USA come the three-wheel <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_DavisWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1948 Davis Divan\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Davis<\/a>, William Hewson&#8217;s one-off <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_Rocket-rearWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Hewson Rocket - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">streamlined<\/a> 1946 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_Rocket-frontWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Hewson Rocket - front\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Rocket<\/a>, and a McQuay-Norris <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_McQuay-NorrisWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1934 McQuay-Norris Streamliner\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Steamliner<\/a> that Jeff and Susan drove in the 2005 Great American Race. Three of James V. Martin&#8217;s cars are present, the 1928 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_MartinAeroWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1928 Martin Aerodynamic\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Aerodynamic<\/a>, said to have been built for Billy Mitchell, and the 1932 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_Stationette&amp;MartinetteWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1950 Martin Stationette &amp; 1932 Martin Martinette\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Martinette (right) and 1950 Stationette<\/a>. Stranger still is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_GasporterRFWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1948 Crosley Gasporter - front\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Gasporter<\/a>, an airport <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_GasporterRearWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"1948 Crosley Gasporter - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">tanker<\/a> built on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_GasporterInstWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Gasporter instruments\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Crosley<\/a> running gear that is driven <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_GasporterCockpitWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Gasporter driving position\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">standing up<\/a>. In 1947, designer Ben Gregory came up with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_GregoryLRWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"rear-engine Gregory coupe - rear\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">rear-engine coupe<\/a> using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_GregoryLFWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"rear-engine Gregory coupe - front\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">front-wheel drive<\/a>. This, too, is a one-off. Have you ever seen a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_TowneShopperWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Towne Shopper\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Towne Shopper<\/a>, one of the multitudinous postwar minicars? I hadn&#8217;t until I visited this museum.<\/p>\n<p>Taking the term &#8220;self-propelled&#8221; to its limits are two aircraft-inspired machines, the 1932 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_HelicronWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Helicron\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Helicron<\/a> from France and the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_WindWagonWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Ted Jameson's Wind Wagon\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Wind Wagon<\/a>,&#8221; a home-brew contraption built by the late Ted Jameson, uncle of racing driver-turned motor sports commentator <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_SAmPoseyWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Sam Posey\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Sam Posey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, Nashville&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_CMHoFWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Country Music Hall of Fame\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Country Music Hall of Fame<\/a>, with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.opry.com\">Grand Ole Opry<\/a> the city&#8217;s major attraction, also has some cars: Elvis&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_ElvisCaddyWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Elvis's Gold Cadillac\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Gold Cadillac<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_PiercePontiWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Webb Pierce's Pontiac Bonneville\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">Pontiac Bonneville<\/a> of Webb Pierce, the latter with an over-and-under <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_PierceGunWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Pierce's trunk ornament\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">trunk ornament<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_6GunHandleWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Pierce's six-gun door handles\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">six-gun door handles<\/a>. Perhaps more to the point is Hank Williams&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitfoster.com\/images\/2008-4-9_WilliamsCabinetWeb-Large.jpg\" title=\"Hank Williams' liquore cabinet\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"imglink\">liquor cabinet<\/a>. Country music is fun, but I&#8217;d rather spend my quality time at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lanemotormuseum.org\/\">Lane Motor Museum<\/a>. The cars you see here are just the tip of the iceberg.
